2 Year Check Up

Dexter had his two-year check up with the doctor last Friday. Everything looks great - he's healthy and on track with his growth and development. Ben and I mentioned our concern about his speech and the doctor assured us that based on our reports of his interactions and her observations of him at the appointment she was confident that he is not autistic or suffering from any cognitive issues. She did recommend speech therapy so that his social development doesn't suffer when other kids can't understand him. Of course, the minute we leave the doctor's office, Dexter pipes up with some brand new words including "Happy", "Pee," Poo," and Go".
