Caught With His Hand In the Cookie Jar

Every night after his dinner, My Bologna gets a treat from his cookie jar. Yesterday afternoon I walked into the kitchen to see Dexter had reached up onto the counter, removed the lid of the cookie jar and was elbow deep, fishing around for a cookie to give My Bologna. He gave me a huge smile when he noticed I was watching. My Bologna happily took the treat from Dexter and trotted off into the living room to enjoy it. My question is this: If My Bologna get his treat after dinner, and if Dexter goes to bed before My Bologna's dinner, how did he know that that was My Bologna's cookie jar? My guess is that Daddy gives My Bologna treats from the cookie jar during the day when Mommy isn't home. Am I right, Ben?
